Peak Adventure is Dominic Sexton's excuse to get out into the Peak District, and other hills, more! He loves running and walking in the National Park and further afield. For many years he has been introducing others to the delights of the area and getting great satisfaction from showing them new ways to enjoy the great outdoors.

Studying at Bangor University allowed the rapid gain of experience in the hills of Snowdonia 35 years ago. That experience has been the foundation of an ever-growing knowledge of the uplands as both a habitat and playground. Wanting to spread his love of the hills he qualified as a Summer Mountain Leader in 1997 and helped on a voluntary basis with the Duke of Edinburgh scheme at a local school.

In 2016 he qualified as a Fell and Mountain Running Coach (Level 2) under the scheme organised by the Fell Runners Association and UK Athletics. This not only covers running in the hills and mountains but also allows the coaching of road running.

Equally at home on a short sharp race or a long day out Dominic seems to do best when the conditions add something to the mix. Longer events have included the West Highland Way Race, High Peak Marathon, the Bullock Smithy and the Beacons Ultra as well as a number of long triathlons when he strayed a little from the running scene.

Be it out in the hills with friends, coaching a running session, teaching navigation or competing in events, short and long, Dominic likes nothing more than getting out in nature and having fun.
